Thank you for entrusting me with your orthodontic care. I want to express my deep gratitude for allowing me to be a part of your journey in our office. While I love every aspect of orthodontics, the time has come for me to retire from private practice.

Effective February 1st, Dr. Tom Hoopes will take over the practice. Dr. Hoopes shares my passion for excellent patient-centered care in a private practice setting. I take your trust very seriously and it was very important for me to transition my office into the hands of an owner doctor who is a wonderful colleague. I know him to be a knowledgeable, thoughtful, detailed, caring, authentic, and dedicated orthodontist.

Dr. Hoopes impressed my staff with his kindness and humility. The entire Mol Orthodontics staff is happy to support him in the same way they have supported me every single day. Dr. Hoopes has reviewed your treatment plan with me and looks forward to meeting you in person. I will remain part of the practice in the near future to assure a seamless transition of your treatment into his capable hands.

Dear Patients,

I am thrilled and honored to be continuing the legacy that Dr. Julie Mol has built over the past 22 years. Dr. Mol and I not only share the same foundational training from the University of North Carolina Orthodontic program, but, more importantly, we share the same vision of providing highly personalized orthodontic care. I hope to get to know each of you better in the coming months, and above all, earn your trust. 

With that in mind, I would like to share a little bit about myself. I was born and raised in the Boston area, and attended the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia for my undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering. I began my dental training in New York City, where I received my Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Columbia University.

After spending most of my life in the Northeast, I enthusiastically embraced the opportunity to leave behind the cold winters for my orthodontic specialty training at UNC Chapel Hill, where I also earned my Master of Science degree. I have worked as an orthodontist in the Triangle area since, and I could not be happier to continue my journey here in Durham. 

My wife, Dr. Cher Hoopes, an endodontist in Chapel Hill, and I have fallen in love with the Triangle area. We are thrilled to be putting our roots down here. Outside of orthodontics, we enjoy traveling, spoiling our dog, Sawyer, and the occasional tennis match.

I look forward to meeting you and please join me in wishing Dr. Mol the very best in her next chapter.
